It's Official: We're Californians...
I heard a quote recently that may be old to many of you. But I'd like to share it nonetheless. Simply put, "There's a fine line between Contentment & Complacency". The definition of these two words is actually very different. And if you're not careful, you'll wake up one day only to discover you mixed the two up and your opportunity has passed. In January 2013, our family made the 2100 mile cross country move from Indiana to California. We'd been "talking" about moving since 2008 after we made our first trip to LA. We fell in love immediately and didn't want to return home. There was much planning that went into moving our established family away from a lifetime of familiarity. Here we had family and friends. Jobs, school, church, and our social lives were all about to change. As I type, it's still only January and twist have already been thrown our way. But we've made the commitment and we're so excited we did. We've met with potential managers and agents for representation. Meetings, new photos, and workshops are all part of our busy lifestyle.
Most know that January through approximately May or June is considered Pilot Season in Los Angeles. This is the time when TONS of activity takes place. New shows are in development, movies and current TV shows are constantly being casts, and thousands of people young and old make the trek to LA in hopes of making it big in Hollywood. We've made our transition permanent rather than for a few months. We're just getting started, but we've got big plans. We're making key contacts and meeting others who offer advice.
